7 Easy simple ways how to motivate yourself

Motivation is a combination of a many things, usually including some type of fear or intense desire. If you want to achieve success and make things happen, then you probably know that you need to have the ability to motivate yourself. Everyone seeks to motivate himself to achieve success and prosperity, but many do not know how. Let's talk about some creative working ways how to do it. Dreaming.jpg Look at those famous quotes, they are sooo much true. "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." - Zig Ziglar "Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice." - Wayne Dyer

1. Keep it to just one

If you have a ton of things on your to-do list, sometimes it becomes daunting and you end up putting the list away and "tackling it later." But if you have one thing on that list of yours, that's it. That's doable. It's doable and you can focus on it - spreading yourself thin over a dozen won't do you or your goals justice.
  • You can't focus yourself if you're not focused on a specific goal. Break it down into small pieces as much as possible. If your goal is to write a book it can be scary, you need to write a lot of text, find pictures, find sources, study a lot and many other things. When you set a goal of writing one paragraph or one page a day it sounds like a peace of cake. Always split big tasks into small one that are not scary.

2. Set rewards

Give yourself rewards. Don't just use rewards for the big end goal (though by all means do that!). Set up checkpoints for yourself and give rewards at those smaller successes, too. Lost 5 pounds? Great! That warrants a massage. Aced your last three tests? Super! A night out it is! Finished the first half of your book? Wonderful - now it's time to go shopping. Procrastination is your enemy When you procrastinate, it will slow down your progress. It is ok to take some time to rest, but to stay procrastinating every day will harm your progress. Leave your comfort zone and motivate yourself to accomplish every task you have to do.

3. Use visualization

For a few minutes each day, sit down and visualize obtaining your goal. When in a bath or in a shower is also good time to visualize. It is something you do every day and when you create a habit from it, it can make a huge difference. Visualize having it. Being it, doing it, achieving it, whatever. What does it feel like? After the few minutes are up, how do you feel? Use other people successful stories, use pictures, use everything you can to create a feel that you already have it.
  • Make sure to use all your senses. What do you taste, smell, see, feel, and hear? What is life truly like? What adjectives can you use to describe this new life of yours? Work in the details to make it as clear as possible. Where are you? What are you doing? What are you wearing? How do you look? Who is with you?

4. Chart your progress

Humans naturally need things to be in concrete terms. You know how many people hate abstract art? It's just hard to understand. So when you're on this path to greatness, get things as tangible as possible. Keep track of your progress so you can sit down and see how great you're doing. Now that's motivating! Keep your progress close to your bed, close to your PC and watch what you already accomplished with some actual goals on it. You will use power of past, power of present and also power of future.
  • Keep a journal dedicated to this task. Record your duties every day (and whether or not they get completed) and your check-ins to see if you've reached mini-goals. Bring it along with you wherever you go.
Do not compare yourself with others Comparing yourself with others is an effective way if you want to become frustrated. It will kill your motivation. Even if you began with enthusiasm, you will lose energy quickly if you start to only focus on what others accomplished. motivate

5. Play music that gives you energy

One of the simplest things I do when I feel low in energy or motivation is to play music that is upbeat and/or inspires me in some way. A break with a few songs or working while listening to them for a while usually works well. Learn from your previous mistakes When you keep focusing on your previous mistakes, you are killing your motivation. Learning from your mistakes can help motivate you since you know what to avoid. Today is a new day. Motivate yourself, so you can achieve what you want and deserve.

6. Remind yourself of why you are working toward this

When you're feeling unmotivated and low in energy it is easy to lose sight of why you're doing something. So take 2 minutes and write down your top 3 reasons for doing this work, getting an education, working out, saving that extra money or something else. Put that note where you can see it every day or keep it in your smartphone for easy access when you need a motivational boost. Be grateful for what you got When motivation is running low then it's easy to start seeing your life and the aspects of it through a negative lens. To put your focus on what you still have and who you are - and to recharge with positivity and motivation - ask yourself a question like: What are 3 things I sometimes take for granted but can be grateful for in my life? My answers would, for example, be a roof over my head, clean water and not having to go hungry. Exercise Working out doesn't just affect your body. Any kind of exercise affect your whole body and therefore your mind too. In a positive way. I prefer running for 30-60 minutes. After this kind of exercise i feel refreshed and motivated to another work.

7. Mix it up

Take a 2 minute meditation break This is something a lot of people still consider as nonsence, but it has been proven that even short meditation around 5 minutes have impact on mind and motivation. When your mind is a bit tired or perhaps even overloaded, energy and motivation can go down. So when needed - sit down with closed eyes and just focus on breathing for few minutes. This clears mind and releases inner tensions. Go out in nature Go out for a walk in the woods or by the sea and be there in the moment with the nature, inhale the fresh air do not think about anything too much. Keep learning Read and try to take in everything you can. The more you learn, the more confident you become in starting projects. Help others Share your ideas and help friends get motivated. Seeing others do well will motivate you to do the same. Write about your success and get feedback from readers.
